Tara and Emmet’s wedding day was off to a busy start at Tara’s family home in Enfield, Co Meath. After a busy start we quickly moved to the beautiful Barracks church at the Casement aerodrome of the Baldonnel Airbase, Co Dublin. This was a one of a kind wedding ceremony officiated by Father Gerry, an active duty military chaplain and a good friend of Emmet’s.
Emmet and little Jack waited for Tara’s arrival both looking dapper in their military uniforms. Tara & Emmet married in front of a dramatic Military salute, together with their lovely family and friends. The ceremony ended with another kind of family adding to the atmosphere – Emmet’s army colleagues provided a symbolic guard of honour to help celebrate the day.
One of the Air Force’s training jets served as a unique backdrop for the bride and groom’s portraits, and the Guard of Honour performed a traditional hat toss to honour the occasion. As the wind picked up we continued taking pictures inside the Irish Air Corps museum located next to the airfield.
Moyvalley Golf Resort and Hotel hosted the wedding reception and dinner, and Emmet’s brother welcomed the new Mr and Mrs Duffy to the party with a solo bagpipes performance. The unspoken highlight of the evening was the Power Point presentation prepared by Mother of the bride. Everyone joined Mrs Keating in wishing Tara and Emmet a fantastic life together filled with health and happiness, and so did we.
Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Duffy for letting us document your special day!
