From the moment I first spoke to Aoibheann I knew her and Brian’s Virginia Park Lodge wedding would be truly amazing and full of fun.
Brian had proposed to Aoibheann with a JigSaw puzzle on one of their many adventures, during a train journey in Sri Lanka. A great prelude into a wedding day full of equal excitement.
The morning festivities were fuelled by jelly beans, laughter, the couples flowered crowned pooch Bailey, and a visit to Brians family pub. Aoibheann and Brian also gifted one another with boxes full of beautiful gifts, which of course brought tears.
The wedding took place on the remarkable grounds of Virginia Park Lodge in Cavan which perfectly housed the electric atmosphere of this couple, their wedding and their many guests.
Aoibheann helped design her bespoke gown by Irish designer Dawn Fitzgerald, who has also previously designed gowns for Alannah McGurk, and Rosanna Davison along with prior Red Carpet looks for Aoibheann. Her sisters were bridesmaids Cliodhna, Sinead and Almha wore stunning Ted Baker dresses.
The couple spoke their vows in front of a packed room of happy guests during a spiritual ceremony. Among their many special ceremony moments, they partook in a traditional hand tying ceremony, and actress Catherine Byrne, who played Aoibheann’s mother in the RTE Soap Fair City, delivered a beautiful reading.
After the ceremony, we took some time out for bridal portraits. We headed to the venues stunning greenhouse and took some time out for additional photos along the venues lakeside.
Their reception room was decorated beautifully, and thousands of fairy lights awaited their guests as they entered for the evening’s festivities. Aoibheann worked closely with the house florist to determine all décor, and her artistic sisters created many of the unique elements for their adventure theme – from the invitations through to the table plans, and table names incorporating the jigsaw puzzle! Michelin chef Richard Corrigan prepared a highly memorable meal.
Following the numerous hilarious speeches, guests were later treated and entertained by two bands and a DJ. This entertainment more than created the party atmosphere that kept the couple and their guests dancing into the wee hours. This was cleverly helped along by Aoibheann’s and Brians attention to detail. The generous couple provided custom light up accessories, that helped bring their dance floor alive. Including a change into some light up shoes by Aoibheann which was greeted by applause.
I wish nothing but the best for Aoibheann and Brian and we thank them for being having us to photograph their amazing wedding day!
