The weather forecast threatened heavy rain and thunderstorms but Anne and Darren’s wedding day was one of the hottest days of the year. Bright sunlight streamed through the majestic halls of Kinnitty Castle. The bridesmaids kept cool in their glamorous 50’s style prom dresses and the bride was stunning in a regal lace wedding dress customised specially for her. The bright and elegant gold and yellow drawing room of the castle was the perfect setting for a humanist ceremony filled with warmth, love and laughter. Anne and Darren’s intimate personalised ceremony included the ancient celtic tradition of hand fasting and centre stage roles for their children – none more so than their 2 year old Kody who chose his own seat literally centre stage between the bride and groom. As the guests enjoyed the evening’s banquet in the Great Hall of the O’Carrolls, a surprise slideshow reminded us that love stories can start in the most unexpected of places… like Oxegen 2010! At the end of this glorious summer’s day the sunset behind the castle was as pretty and pink as the bridesmaid’s dresses… and still no rain!
