Ashley & Daniel – Castle Leslie Estate Wedding

This was a New Years Eve Wedding with serious timeless style at the stunning Castle Leslie Estate.

Ashley and Daniel met in London through work and got engaged in the sky above the Serengeti…yes you read that right! Daniel got down on one knee at sunrise during a hot air balloon ride while watching giraffes and zebras roam. It was an incredibly romantic proposal so you bet the wedding was going to follow suit.

The morning started with plenty of giggles and bubbly, just as it should. Ashley’s house was still decked out in Christmas decorations and it was buzzing with bridesmaids as the ladies got their hair and makeup done. Amongst the fun, the emotions were right there however as Ashley penned a love letter to her groom.

At the boys house, it was cool and calm as the grooms party got dressed in their black tie suits. It was really refreshing to see the men wearing tails and perfect for a New Year’s Eve wedding.

The bride Ashley looked like a 1920’s movie star with her wavy hair and red lips. She accessorized her look with a beautiful crown from Viktoria Novak. It was perfect with her Galia LaHav backless dress from Brown’s Bride in London.

The bridesmaids wore full length red dresses from Goddiva Fashion to compliment the season. The flowers were kept to elegant cream roses.

The couple chose to get married at St Brigid’s Church, Brocagh, Co. Tyrone. The chapel was filled with guests all dressed in their finest and eager to celebrate with Ashley and Daniel.

After the ceremony, the newly married couple travelled to Castle Leslie Estate in Monaghan in a classic silver Bentley. Castle Leslie is such a fabulous wedding venue and at that time of year, it felt super cosy with the festive decor and twinkling lights.

We took some time to shoot some relaxed portraits. At Castle Leslie, you are never short on inspiration for backdrops. We definitely had to shoot some indoors because this couple’s style matched the castle so beautifully. Then we ventured outdoors to ensure we got some shots of the water and architecture in there as well.

Ashley and Daniel are so clearly in love with each other and getting those great, intimate moments captured was not difficult. They were more than happy to take the time to wander around the estate and cuddle up together for the camera. Time well spent when you see the Castle Leslie wedding photos or images!

As it came time for dinner, guests found that the tables were themed around the couple’s epic Serengeti proposal and the speeches were beyond hilarious.

After dinner, Ashley, Daniel and myself ventured up to the bridal suite to take a few more moody, film noir style shots before the first dance. These shots were another great opportunity to create some photographs in keeping with their style and the day.

Then it was onto the dancefloor! After an impressive first dance (they had a few dance lessons to ensure they were ready for it), the guests joined them to bring their best moves. As it was New Years Eve, the dance floor remained full all night long and we brought 2019 in with a serious party.
