Tonya and Karl’s lovely summer wedding day got off to the perfect start in Rathfarnham where they grew up. While Tonya and the bridesmaids were getting ready, Karl and the groomsmen sneaked into the Yellow House for a quick wee pint. The lovely Rathfarnham Parish church hosted the ceremony that was recorded and broadcast over Skype for some of Tonya and Karl’s friends back in Australia.
The couple decided to celebrate their nuptials with family and friends at the absolutely fantastic Rathsallagh House in County Wicklow. At Tonya and Karl’s request we took a very quick detour to a ‘Secret location’ to get a few pictures on route to Rathsallagh. The drinks reception was held outdoors and the weather could not have been any more perfect. The gentle wind was blowing and all the guests enjoyed their drinks under the warm and sunny Wicklow sky.
The bridal party speeches were definitely a highlight of the evening with Tonya’s father reciting a funny limerick he wrote in Tonya’s honor. The best man then brilliantly compared Karl’s disco days to a rugby game; but maybe the less said about that the better..
We finished the night with some lovely light painting under the majestic Oak tree in the grounds, and It really was a real pleasure to be part of their spectacular day. Congratulations again Tonya and Karl!
