Ballykisteen Hotel Wedding | Deirdre & Colin

Deirdre and Colin met at the Fethard Medieval Festival in 2010, and Colin proposed to Deirdre during the Christmas holidays in 2014.

Making that moment even more special was the involvement of their one and a half year old daughter Roisin, who took the ring out of the box and said, “Here Mommy, this is for you”, after Colin asked for her hand in marriage. A wonderful memory indeed.

The couple had a stunning Winter wedding and were married at the Augustinian Abbey in Fethard. The reception took place at Ballykisteen Hotel and Golf Resort in Co. Tipperary.

Colin is also a wedding photographer, so of course their wedding portraits were of great importance. The ultimate test for a wedding photographer is to photograph another wedding photographers wedding. Unfortunately, the weather on the day was not co–operating. It was rainy, and a little bit grey. But sure, even with the rain we were able to get great shots outside, with the help of some illuminated umbrellas. So I must give accolades to Deirdre, who was, along with Colin, more than happy to brave the elements for their wedding portraits.

The reception room, complete with draped lighting, was beautiful for photographs. The couples wedding rings also had a stand out quality. Etched into the rings themselves were the couples fingerprints, which is not something you see everyday.

Congratulations Deirdre and Colin on your special day and thank-you for allowing me to be a part of it.
